Building a Culture of Success: Chuck Brown’s Leadership and AVID Impact
We’re excited to spotlight Chuck Brown, AVID teacher and coordinator at Head Magnet Middle School, for his transformative work in reshaping the college and career culture at his school. Mr. Brown has revitalized the academic program and school environment, by introducing a college and career guest speaker series that inspires students to pursue their passions.
Fostering a culture of academic rigor and collaboration, his leadership extends beyond the classroom. Through experiential learning trips and faculty training on effective teaching strategies, Mr. Brown has significantly enhanced student engagement and achievement. His dedication continues to drive lasting positive change at Head Magnet Middle School.

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Young Scholars Program: Application Opens February 6!
The Young Scholars Program is a 5-year, pre-college scholarship that includes support with planning and goal-setting, funding for academic and extracurricular opportunities, annual summer programs, and peer networking! Students apply in 7th grade and, if selected, would participate in grades 8–12.
